Ink – wants to jump off the brush and flood the paper – you need to control how much goes where. Paint – tend to want to stay on the brush and you brush it onto the paper. Ink drawings have a very long artistic tradition. If this is your first time brushing you nee to know that ink on a brush act differently to paint on a brush. again, don’t fuss over it, if the soap wash runs clean then the brush is clean. try to clean well up near it if you can but don’t obsess.Ħ] some inks and some brushes will stain the bristles – even after the wash it will appear “dirty”. If you want a watered down ink, take some from the pot (eyedropper or pipette or load up an old brush) to a palette/plate/ashtray and then add some water to mix.ģ] brush your ink – if you keep using the brush it will stay OK, if you’re swapping brushes for a while then dip this on in water, swirl it a bit then dry it on tissue or toilet paper.Ĥ] when you’ve finished, wash the brush – soap, dish liquid, brush cleaner, your choice.ĥ] you will always get some ink up in the ferrule – don’t fuss too much about it.
